ISM Expanding Product Segments

Cologne, Germany — Ready-to-serve fish and meat snacks, fruit and vegetable snacks and smoothies, breakfast items (including coffee and tea), energy and fitness products and frozen sweets will be exhibited at ISM 2015 for the first time.

The segments are being included to better reflect the consumer landscape as well as offer exhibitors and visitors greater cross-sector synergies and more diverse sales opportunities, according to event organizer Koelnmesse GmbH.

To make it easier for visitors to find products, the event’s database has been enhanced with information on trend themes for the categories. Themes include halal, kosher, bio, fair trade, sugarfree, allergy-friendly, functional, artisan production, private label, limited edition and impulse packaging, the organizer reports.

In addition, ISM will again run concurrent with ProSweets, an international trade event for suppliers of the confectionery industry. With more than 300 companies exhibiting, Koelnmesse notes the two shows represent the entire value chain for the confectionery production and sales business.
