Baltimore, MD — Ford Gum & Machine Co. is partnering with Ripken Baseball to promote its Big League Chew brand.
The arrangement will help keep the brand relevant with today’s youth and will be visible to the more than one million players associated with Ripken Baseball, Ford Director of Marketing David Plotnick tells Candy & Snack TODAY.
The updated packs will feature “The Official Bubblegum of Ripken Baseball” graphics and the story of the brand’s history on the back as well as information on the baseball organization.
In addition, during opening night of the 2014 Cal Ripken World Series, August 8, every attendee will be given Big League Chew in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most people blowing bubbles with gum simultaneously.
The company reports fans will be encouraged to use the #BigLeagueBubbles hashtag when sharing pictures of their bubbles on social media. Plotnick notes the hastag and social media components are also promoted on the back of the new packs.
