Decatur, IL — Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) has acquired the remaining shares of Alfred C. Toepfer International GmbH from Union InVivo for $112.7 million, and will fold the latter’s operations into its own, ADM reports.

“We can now fully combine our integrated supply chain, global origination network and risk management expertise with Toepfer’s strong global marketing and distribution capabilities,” Joe Taets, senior vice-president and president, agricultural services, says.

Toepfer, a global purveyor of commodities and processed products including oilseeds, vegetable oils, grain, peas and chickpeas and biomass products, has facilities in Europe and North America. ADM acquired 80 percent of the company’s shares in 2002.
