Chicago — Without a doubt, the growing influence of social media is impacting the way brands are rethinking how they reach consumers. During the Expo, Lindsay Baish, a digital strategist at Saachi and Saachi X, shared five simple social media tips to drive consumer engagment.
1. Figure out where your shopper spends time and what he or she does there.
With 71 percent of shoppers more likely to make a purchase based on social media referrals, an effective strategy is crucial. Tracking the consumer’s path is useful to developing a powerful strategy.
2. Develop shopper-centric content
As more shoppers choose to purchase online, data show digital purchases are fueled by messaging content. About 41 percent of consumers find products through social media, so make content relevant.
While social media platforms such as Facebook have started charging retailers for content visibility, making the investment on such outreach is worth every dollar.
4. Make it easy for people to participate
For brands to reach as many buyers as possible it is important to make content accessible. Brands should do this by making it sharable, rewarding online fans and followers and calling on them to engage with the brand.
5: Adjust KPI
Key performance indicators (KPI) can be measured through how much consumers engage with the brand, how often content has gone viral, how many reviews the brand has and the amount of web traffic.
