Chicago — The Network of Executive Women (NEW) has named Michele G. Buck, president, North America for The Hershey Co., a Champion for the organization.
The award recognizes executives who attract, retain and advance women in the retail and consumer products industry.
“Michele’s approach to business, employee development and opportunity demonstrate her commitment to diversity and inclusion,” NEW President and CEO Joan Toth says. “She leads by example and her success proves the value of gender diversity in the industry’s executive ranks.”
As president, North America, Buck is responsible for leading Hershey’s U.S. and Canadian businesses, delivering more than $6 billion of revenue accounting for approximately 90 percent of the company’s business. Previously she served as senior vice-president, global chief growth officer, where her primary focus was delveloping and driving a transformational growth agenda for the company.
Prior to joining Hershey in 2005, Buck was an officer of Kraft Foods. During her 17-year tenure at Kraft/Nabisco, she held numerous senior positions, including senior vice president and general manager for Kraft Foods Confections. She sits on the board of directors at New York Life, a Fortune 100 financial services company.
The NEW is the retail and consumer products industry’s largest women’s leadership organization, with 8,300 members representing 750 companies.
