Mediterranean Diet-Based Snack Bars Launch

New York — Inspired by the Mediterranean Diet, Mediterra, Inc. introduces, the company reports.

Savory bars feature protein-intense pea crisps, olive oil and amaranth, and are low in sugar, sodium and calories, the company claims. Available in Tomato/Basil/Capers and Olive/Walnut/Chives varieties, the 1.4-ounce bars contain six grams of protein and fiber and are certified kosher.

Dairy-free Sesame Seed/Pistachio/Greek Honey and Sesame Seed/Orange/Greek Honey bars are reminiscent of traditional Greek pasteli and contain five grams of protein and two grams of fiber in 1.3-ounce bars.

Featuring a yogurt-style coating on the bottom and fig paste, sunflower seeds and raisins, 1.6-ounce Yogurt/Oat/Cherry Pistachio and Yogurt/Oat/Apricot Pistachio bars contain seven grams of protein and are certified kosher.

According to Mediterra, the bars are high in fiber, nutrients and vitamins, and are intended to address changing snack needs throughout the day.

The bars carry a $1.99 SRP and pack in 12-ct trays shipping in eight-ct master cases.
