Amsterdam — Patrick Poirrier, CEO of French manufacturer Cémoi, Inc., has been named president of the Association of Chocolate, Biscuit and Confectionery of Europe (CAOBISCO).
He began his two-year term earlier this week and is succeeding Tobias Bachmüller, CEO of Katjes Fassin GmbH + Co. Bachmüller will remain with the association as vice-president, a duty he shares with Alessandro Cagli, Ferrero SpA Director of European Affairs. Cagli will become CAOBISCO president in 2016.
Poirrier began his career in confectionery by developing and heading the Ivory Coast subsidiary of Cémoi in 1996. He also held the position of Industrial Manager before being named COO. He became CEO of the firm in 2005.
In addition, Poirrier currently serves as president of the raw materials committee and vice-president of the chocolate sector of French association Alliance 7.
