San Francisco — Lolli and Pops, Inc. and Powell’s Sweet Shoppe have merged, establishing one of the largest candy store chains in the U.S., according to the joint company.
With a combined 35 stores, Lolli And Pops reports it will be better positioned to enter new markets with brands tailored to the area. In addition, the merger allows the new company to enter markets with a three-tiered approach.
“Powell’s Sweet Shoppe has always been a great brand, but we’ve been missing structure and resources. The merger with Lolli and Pops gives us the much needed resources to grow as a brand,” says Bear Silber, CEO of Powell’s, who will remain with the company as president.
The joint company will operate seven Lolli and Pops locations, 12 stores under the Candyopolis brand and 16 Powell’s stores.
