Arlington, VA — Doug Horn, president of processing and packaging equipment company A.C. Horn & Co., passed away during the holiday weekend, the Snack Food Association (SFA) reports.
He succeeded his father as head of the company in 1997, and for more than 27 years was an active SFA member who was instrumental in coordinating and leading the annual SNAXPO worship service, according to the association. Horn was also a member of the SFA Associate Executive Council.
In addition, he was a member of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas and sponsor of the HP Byron Nelson Championship PGA tournament.
Horn is survived by his wife, Priscilla, son Michael Horn Jr., daughters Suzanne and Leslie and four grandchildren.
His son will succeed him as company president, representing the fourth generation of the family to lead the company.
"I am committed to following my father's footsteps by leading and conducting our cmpany with the highest standards of excellence and integrity," Michael Horn says. "We recently closed out our most successful fiscal year in the company's 107 year history and we plan to maintain that momentum as we transition into this new chapter."
