Minneapolis — A new Cargill, Inc. website offers food manufacturers ideas for solving formulation issues associated with making products associated with nutritional kid-focused products.
Childhood-nutrition.com offers suggestions for alternatives to salt, sugar and fat, information on factors influencing parents when making food purchasing decisions, nutrition and policy news.
“We are focusing resources to help customers develop formulations with less trans and saturated fat, sugar and sodium, and more whole grains, fiber and protein. Customers have an opportunity to offer healthier choices and meet new childhood nutrition standards such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture's school meal program requirements as well as recommendations from industry organizations,” says Pat Bowe, corporate vice-president of Cargill Food Ingredients & Systems.“
