June 11, 2013
Johannesburg — Mondelez International, Inc. is developing a heat-resistant chocolate that can withstand temperatures up to 40 degrees higher than standard chocolate in order to meet the needs of retailers in hot climates where people often shop in outdoor markets, Reuters reports.
Lawrence MacDougall, president of Mondelez's Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa business, says the company has invested at least 10 years in research on this product and plans to roll it out soon, although he could not give a specific date.
