Sydney, NSW — TNA Australia PTY, Ltd. and Mettler Toledo Safeline are the winners of the (Processing, Packaging and Machinery Association) PPMA Group Ltd.’s Partnership of the Year Award for their hyper-detect metal detector integrated into the TNA robag VFFS bagger. TNA claims the hyper-detect is the world’s first non-symmetrical balanced coil metal detector with conical aperture into the detector, which can be positioned within close proximity to the multi-head weigher for increased bagging speed. It is able to detect ferrous contaminants from 0.8 mm to 0.9 mm and non-ferrous pieces up to 1.0 mm and non-magnetic stainless steel from 1.0 mm to 1.2 mm, TNA reports. The company says the detector and chute work together to provide the product with a fully optimized path and operator control is integrated into the TNA robag. Tim Mousdale, TNA Europe general manager, says: “We identified a clear industry need for the sensitivity of a high class metal detector with the speed and performance associated with TNA’s flagship robag VFFS range. The end result is the hyper-detect. With large sales in the first six months following its launch, the judges concluded that, the partnership worked together to fill a gap in the market.”
