Employee Programs, Sustainability Among McCormick CSR Goals

Chicago — A sustainable supply chain, healthier products and operational efficiencies are among McCormick & Co.’s goals for 2018, according to the company’s 2013 Corporate Social Responsibility Review.
Committing to exceed 100,000 global employee volunteer hours by 2014, McCormick says it will promote an inclusive global environment, empower its employees and improve communities. The company will also launch an employee wellness program, Eating Well, and increase its marketing investment 20 percent to promote the role of flavors in healthy eating
McCormick has also pledged to increase funding by 50 percent for community programs in its supply chain, aiming to improve quality of life for farmers.
Working to minimize waste, the firm claims it will conserve 25 percent more packaging, use 20 percent less electricity and water, reduce solid waste by 50 percent and reduce greenhouse gases 10 percent.
