Hershey, PA — The Hershey Co. presented the Vision Award to Mexican singer and actress Lucero for her contributions as a global philanthropist supporting children in need, according to the company.
Hershey President International Bert Alfonso bestowed her with the award at the 26th Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards on September 5 at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington.
The first Latin actress to win an EMMY in 2006, Lucero has sold more than 27 million albums and starred in nine top-rated soap operas, Hershey reports. She has served as the official ambassador for Mexican charity, Teleton Mexico, and has hosted a telethon on behalf of the organization for the past 15 years to raise money for children with disabilities.
“Hershey is dedicated to the Latino community and children’s education worldwide,” Alfonso says. “We share and celebrate the Hispanic Heritage Foundation’s mission to identify, inspire, prepare and position Latino leaders in the classroom, community and workforce.”
