Chicago — Patrick Huffman, president and COO of The Warrell Corp., was presented the 68th annual Kettle Award at a reception held yesterday evening at the Union League Club of Chicago.
Huffman has worked in the industry for more than 40 years, primarily focused on the chocolate segment. His emphasis on organizational excellence, plant efficiency, streamlined supply chain and dedication to quality items has led Warrell to consistently increase its sales and profits, the nomination claims.
In addition to his position as president and COO, Huffman sits on the NCA Board of Trustees, and in 2010 the Association recognized him with its Distinguished Service Award for his efforts on behalf of the industry. He is an active member of the Pennsylvania Manufacturing Confectioners Association and the American Association of Candy Technologists.
The award, recognizing individuals who have contributed to the good of the industry, is administered by Candy Industry magazine. Huffman will be inducted into the Candy Hall of Fame in Tampa, FL, in October.
