Nestle Opens Pathogen Research Labs

Vevey, Switzerland — Nestle opened 20-some new laboratories today for studying food-borne pathogens — the company claims the facilities are the most advanced in the industry.

Equipped with polymerase chain reaction, molecular typing, and P3 laboratories, the plant requires high levels of bio-containment.

Nestle says it is “using the most sophisticated scientific techniques available to refine the processes it uses to kill pathogens without destroying the nutritional value of its food.”
