New Milford, CT — Torie & Howard has gained distribution for its organic and kosher Tarocco Blood Orange and Honey hard candy in 677 Barnes & Noble bookstore cafes in every state.
Torie Burke, owner and founder, says Barnes & Noble decided to sell the non-GMO, preservative-, artificial color-, casein-, soy- and gluten-free candy after a successful 300-store trial that began in January.
“They’re really attracted to the fact we're offering a very clean, kosher and organic candy,” Burke tells Candy & Snack TODAY. “Our core client base aligns with Barnes and Noble's and I think Barnes & Noble sees an organic snack with sophisticated flavors and one that has changed with the way our country is deciding to eat. There are only 12 calories per piece.”
Packed in two-ounce tins with nature-inspired graphics, the product has a SRP of $4.99.
