New York — The Specialty Food Association named the winners of the 41st annual Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation (sofi) at a ceremony at the Summer Fancy Food Show this week. With 2,573 entries across 32 categories, the awards boasted record participation this year.
Chocolate Moderne’s Avant-Garde Blood Orange Bergamot Chocolate Bar won the chocolate category. Filled with orange juice-infused caramel and scented with bergamot oil, the chocolates are white- and orange-speckled. The best confection award went to the Sticky Toffee Pudding Co.’s Chocolate Tiffin bars with Biscuits, Roasted Almonds & Cherries.
Tate’s Bake Shop’s Whole Wheat Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies earned the top cookie spot, while Effie’s Homemade Single Serve Oatcakes took home the Shelf-Stable Foodservice award. POP! Gourmet Popcorn’s Rogue Blue cheese popcorn was the winning snack food and Lesley Stowe Fine Foods Salty Date and Almond Raincoast Crisps won in the cracker category.
