Lititz, PA — Steps for starting a confectionery business, business management including marketing and legal operations, and chocolate product development are among the topics that will be discussed at Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate’s upcoming Chocolatier’s Workshop.
Held from Sept. 23 to 25 in Lititz, PA, the seminar focuses on opening and operating a successful confectionery company.
Day one will include details about choosing a business location, product mix, equipment, packaging and brand identity. The focus of the second day will be on marketing, advertising, promotions and legal and operational landscape. Attendees will spend the last day of the workshop in Cargill's cocoa and chocolate development facility, where they will learn and demonstrate tempering and craft their own confections.
Cargill reports Tom and Debra Ocasio, owners of a chocolate boutique in New Jersey, said they gained extensive knowledge at the workshop, despite eight years of experience.
Tom Ocasio says: “We left the workshop with not only confirmation that our business was headed in the right direction, but also a newfound wealth of knowledge to move our business forward in the future. I would highly recommend this class to anyone entering the chocolate world for the first time or to an experienced business owner just looking to regain that spark that started them on their chocolate journey.”
