Revere, MA — The New England Confectionery Co.’s (NECCO) manufacturing plant has achieved Safe Quality Food Level 2 Certification.
The HACCP-based food safety plan is benchmarked by the Global Food Safety Initiative and is internationally recognized, distinguishing food producers as safe and responsible, NECCO reports. Marketing Coordinator Brian Chalifour says the yearlong process to become certified was completed after a recent audit.
CEO Alan Gulachenski says: “This certification is a key part of a strategic growth plan for NECCO, which includes investing in our brands and growing our contract and private label manufacturing business. It’s truly a testament to the staff and their commitment to our company, products and heritage.”
