Dallas — 7-Eleven, Inc. is rolling out an organic, better-for-you line of 7-Select brand snacks, including trail mix, veggie chips and pretzels.
The introduction is an attempt to capitalize on the all-day healthy snacking trend, the company reports. The items range in price from $1.49 to $4.99 and come in both single-serve and seven-ounce packs.
7-Eleven says: “The centerpiece of the new snack selection is a collection of 13 bulk-type snacks packed in clear, plastic containers with minimal labeling so the contents can be seen easily. This reflects a trend that has found traction in high-end grocery stores: Premium snacks in generic containers typically displayed near the bulk food, fresh produce or prepared food departments.”
Santa Fe-Style Trail Mix includes peanuts, roasted corn, chili crackers, sesame sticks, chili lemon sticks and pepitas. Veggie Chips are yellow and purple sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, taro and green beans. Raw almonds, banana chips and yogurt- and chocolate-covered pretzels are also among the new items.
