Hershey, PA — Marking its 40th anniversary, Hershey’s Chocolate World Attraction set an attendance record at all eight sites, including two million visitors to the flagship site, according to The Hershey Co.
Attendance for the 2013 summer season grew eight percent from 2012, the company reports.

Since the first interactive brand experience opened in 1973, more than 150 million guests have visited Chocolate World sites in Hershey, PA, New York, Chicago, Niagara Falls, Shanghai, Singapore and Dubai. Additional openings are planned for Las Vegas and Shanghai in 2014.
Featuring multisensory retail and merchandising displays, the sites encourage visitor engagement ranging from create-your-own candy bar areas to chocolate tastings, an interactive 4D mystery theater and participation in a digital Hershey's Kisses commercial.
“Our store designs are pacesetters for what traditional retailers can do in their stores,” Hahn explains. “They serve as learning labs where we can continually create new and better ways to present and merchandise our products in ways that capture the attention and imagination of candy-loving consumers.”
