Lower Fat, Calorie Peanuts Debut

Cranbury, NJ — Nachalur Natural peanuts containing 30 percent less fat, 25 percent fewer calories and 20 percent more protein and fiber than regular peanuts are being introduced by Apptec Health Foods, Inc.

The company reports it has developed a process to remove fat and calories from peanuts, while increasing protein and fiber without impacting the eating experience.

Anil Torgalkar, CEO, says: “We have a patent on our unique manufacturing process that allows us to use no chemicals or preservatives to produce this great tasting, low-fat peanut product.”

Available in sea salt, honey and spicy varieties, the peanuts pack in 1.1-ounce bags and five-ounce pouches. The bags ship 48 per case and have a SRP of $1.99, while pouches ship 36 per case and have a SRP of $5.99.
