Selma, TX — John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc.’s Fisher Nuts brand is donating 200,000 holiday meals to the Texas Food Bank Network (TFBN) for the second consecutive year through its Fisher Shares & Cares Food Drive and Facebook campaign.
The company is asking Texans to bring non-perishable food in non-breakable containers to their local food bank or like Fisher Nuts on Facebook now through Dec. 31. Fisher says it will donate 20 meals for every “like” it receives. At the end of the year, the firm will present a check to the TFBN at the San Antonio Food Bank and employees from the local Fisher plant will volunteer and pack meals.
TFBN CEO Celia Cole says: “With one in four Texas households with children reporting an inability to afford enough food, we are fighting a tough battle on hunger. We are thrilled to have Fisher’s support again this year.”
