San Diego — Rosemary Salt Caramel Bonbons from Chuao Chocolatier won a silver medal in the milk chocolate caramels category at this year’s International Chocolate Awards in London.
In addition, the company won silver awards during the competition’s North American judging for its dark chocolate Salted Chocolate Crunch and Spicy Maya bars as well as its milk chocolate Pop Corn Pop bars.
The Rosemary Salt Caramel Bonbons feature a salt butter caramel infused with rosemary and enrobed in milk chocolate. The bonbons were among 150 products selected for the final round of judging, which boasted a panel of more than 300 chocolate experts, food journalists and pastry chefs, the company reports.
Michael Antonorsi, Chuao co-founder and master chocolatier, says: “We are honored to have four of our mouth-watering confections honored with awards and are especially delighted by the silver awarded for international excellence. The Rosemary Salt Caramel Bonbon is one of my all-time favorite flavors, and I am happy to see it arouses the senses of others around the world.”
