Decatur, IL — Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) is making two donations of $50,000 to the American Red Cross toward relief efforts in the aftermath of recent tornadoes in the midwestern U.S. and the typhoon in the Philippines, the company reports.
In addition, through the end of the year, ADM has pledged to match all employee contributions of $25 or more to the American Red Cross. The funds are being donated through ADM Cares, the company’s social investment program.
Victoria Podesta, ADM vice-president and chief communications officer, says: “Last weekend’s tornados affected our colleagues, customers and neighbors. We want to do our part to help get everyone back on their feet. As a global company with a presence in more than 75 countries, we also want to help our neighbors overseas in their efforts to rebuild the communities devastated by Typhoon Haiyan.”
