Norcross, GA — Rock-Tenn Co. (RockTenn) has received certification under the 100 percent Recycled Paperboard Alliance’s (RPA-100%) newly launched certification program, the company reports.
All of the packaging supplier’s coated recycled board mills have been certified following third-party audits to verify that paperboard marketed as being completely recycled only contains recovered fibers, RockTenn reports.
The company’s audits were completed in December 2013, and RockTenn and its licensed customers can now use the RPA-100% Certified Recycled Paperboard label on packaging.
Michael Kiepura, president, consumer packaging and recycling, says: “With this new certification designation, our customers and consumers will have an even higher level of confidence that their packaging made from RockTenn coated recycled paperboard contains only 100 percent recovered fibers.”
The RPA-100% program was developed in conjunction with industry stakeholders, including some of North America’s largest CPG companies and the certification symbol is anticipated to see facing at retail during the first quarter of this year.
