Baltimore — Following well-received introductions in other countries, Haribo of America, Inc. is debuting Smurf Sour gummies in the U.S. market.
The sanded candies will be available during the second quarter and the company notes sour gummi candy’s sales growth has more than double that of the overall non-chocolate category.
“We first took a franchise success in the universally loved Smurfs cartoon and paired it with America’s favorite gummi candy, producing a product that appeals to kids and adults alike,” says Harbio of America President Christian Jegen. “It was a winning combination, and we’re thrilled to make some noise in the competitive sour gummi space with this exceptional product. We are very focused on this trend.”
The four-ounce peg bags have a SRP range of $1.09 to $1.69 and ship in 12-ct cases.
