McLean, VA — For the second consecutive year, Mars, Inc. appears on the roll of 2014 Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For in the U.S., the company reports.
Listed at number 76, Mars bettered its position by 19 points from its 2013 ranking. President Paul S. Michaels says: “We want to give associates the opportunity to have a long, rewarding career at Mars, so we invest seriously in growth and development. This pays dividends in the talent and abilities of our team and retention of the best and brightest. We’re honored to be recognized by Fortune magazine for our associates’ continued dedication in making Mars a great place to work.”
Applicants for the award complete a detailed questionnaire about their programs and practices and consent to a confidential employee survey conducted by Great Place to Work, an international consulting and management training firm. Selection is based on an evaluation of credibility, fairness, respect, pride and camaraderie, which the company claims reflect the association between how people are treated and how businesses perform.
Mars was among the 2013 World’s Best Multinational Workplaces recognized by the Great Places to Work Institute for the number of women in its senior management and executive ranks.
Victoria B. Mars, a member of the Mars board of directors, will be among the keynote speakers at the 2014 Great Place to Work Conference, April 2 to 4, at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Information is available at greatplacetowork.com/2014-conference
