Fairfield, CA — The Jelly Belly Candy Co. is debuting Draft Beer jelly beans with the flavor of a Hefeweizen ale at ISM in Cologne, Germany, the company reports.
The iridescent amber beans have a mildly sweet wheat beer taste and a breadlike aroma, although they are alcohol-free, according to the company.
Rob Swaigen, vice-president of marketing, says: “Anyone who enjoys a good, cold beer will enjoy Draft Beer Jelly Belly — it tastes just as you’d imagine.”
The kosher-certified beans contain no fat, peanuts, dairy, gluten and gelatin and have four calories each, Jelly Belly claims.
Carrying a $8.99 SRP, the 16-ounce reclosable bags are available at jellybelly.com\, and will be available in stores in the spring.
