Washington — Companies from more than 20 countries will be exhibiting at the 2014 Sweets & Snacks Expo, confirming the event’s international importance, according to the NCA.
The show floor will again host country-specific pavilions, including a new European section, which joins returning Brazil, China, Germany, Ecuador and Mexico exhibits.
The Association, which organizes the Expo, reports that in 2013, 12 percent of attendees traveled from outside of the U.S., with the show experiencing double-digit international participation with more than 90 countries represented.
Tim Quinn, Expo chairman and vice-president of trade development for Mars Chocolate North America, says: “The power of U.S. brands around the world is truly harnessed at the Expo, which serves as a destination for global confectionery and snack markets to come together.”
NCA President Larry Graham says this is the fourth consecutive year the show has experienced growth, boasting a sold-out show floor with a double-digit waiting list. “This is a proven trend reflecting the value that our event and the NCA provides the industry,” he adds.
Complete pre-Expo coverage will be included in the March/April issue of Candy & Snack TODAY.
