Washington — An eight-candidate slate for seats on the NCA Board of Trustees has been selected for the annual election, according to Peter Blommer, chairman of the NCA nominating committee. Votes approving the nominees must be cast by Monday, February 10.
The candidates are Sal Ferrara, CEO, Ferrara Candy Co., Inc.; Tony Jacobs, vice-president and global general manager, Bazooka Candy Brands; Bernard Kreilmann, CEO, Ferrero USA, Inc.; Richard Ross, president, Galerie; Kevin Silva, senior vice-president of administration, The Warrell Corp.; Marty Thompson, CEO, The Ghirardelli Chocolate Co.; Rick Tyrrell, vice-president of wholesale North America, Godiva Chocolatier, Inc.; and Kirk Vashaw, president and CEO, Spangler Candy Co.
Email ballots announcing the list of nominees have been sent by the NCA to its members.
“We have presented a strong slate of candidates, and we urge every NCA member to make their wishes known in selecting the Board of Trustees,” says Blommer, president and COO of The Blommer Chocolate Co. “This is an important time for the Association because of the transition of the presidency.”
The Board includes manufacturers, suppliers, brokers and international members, and is responsible for addressing industry issues, setting priorities for the Association and approving its annual financial plan. The current three-year term for the Board of Trustees begins March 5.
