Chicago — Gary Rietz is Blommer Chocolate Co.’s new chief information officer and Tom Hyland, its corporate manager of master planning and scheduling, the company reports.
Rietz will focus on developing, leading and overseeing initiatives to increase the effectiveness of the company’s information technology (IT) applications, support current business, anticipate and implement future manufacturing and business objectives and develop IT support for corporate growth and expansion objectives.
His experience includes CIO roles in consumer packaged goods and business service companies such as Dean Foods Co., Ubiquity Brands Inc. and Quaker Oats Co. as well as ATC Corp. Rietz has an MBA in finance, economics and accounting from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Purdue University.
Hyland joins Blommer from Datwyler Packaging Inc., where he was logistics/supply chain manager responsible for planning, raw material and indirect material procurement. He will focus on developing an overall master plan.
A Penn State University graduate, Hyland has a bachelor’s degree in business logistics.
