Stratham, NH — Lindt & Sprüngli (USA), Inc. will break ground this spring on a 108,261-square-foot production, storage and distribution addition to its North American headquarters and manufacturing facility, to be completed in 2015, the company reports.
The expansion is part of an ongoing, multi-million-dollar, multi-phase project that will ultimately achieve a campus of more than one million square feet of production facilities supplying markets in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, England, China and Australia, according to Lindt.
Lindt USA President and CEO Thomas Linemayr says the manufacturing facility “will help us to stay at the forefront of the industry and accommodate the growing demands from the market and consumers.”
Four additional production lines for Lindt’s Hello, Lindor, Excellence and Ghirardelli brands will be housed in the expansion, Vice-President of Operations Robert Michalski reports. He explains: “We’re doing very well. The expansion is to make sure we have capacity for both lines.” Michalski estimates the current facility processes more than 100 tons of chocolate per day.
Between 2006 and 2010, 350,000 square feet of production, packaging and distribution space and a state-of-the-art cocoa liquor production plant were added to the Stratham site. Of the company’s eight production facilities, it is the only one in North America.
