Alexandria, VA — Replacing the two-day, face-to-face seminars offered by the Association for Convenience and Food Retail (NACS) is a new Category Management Online Training course.
Developed by NACS, Impact 21 and Ready Training Online, the course is designed for c-store retailers and suppliers and teaches analytical skills for growing sales with the right product offerings, getting more profit per square foot and maximizing foot traffic productivity, according to the association.
NACS reports the flexibility of the online offering allows participants to make their own schedules while saving costs for companies by eliminating the need for travel, hiring training personnel and materials and other classroom-related expenses.
The program is designed for marketing and merchandising professionals, operations personnel, retail category managers, supplier sales and category managers, business analysts and small operators managing all aspects of their retail business.
Graduates of the course can to become Certified Convenience Category Managers, a designation awarded by NACS to individuals committed to continuous professional improvement.
NACS Chairman and President Jeff Miller, of Miller Oil Co., says: “Competition is tough and you really have to be in control of what you are doing. The only way to do that is to have a tight grip on your category management process.”
