Sparks, MD — McCormick & Co., Inc. is considering moving from its longtime headquarters and consolidating administrative offices in either Maryland or Pennsylvania, the company reports.
Director of Corporate Communications Jim Lynn tells Candy & Snack TODAY: “We’re in the early stages of a long-term, multi-year project … to develop a more effective workplace. It could take several years for us to reach a decision. The answers will come as we go through the project." He says the company is working with employees to find out what they want and need, and notes McCormick's primary objectives are "to increase employee collaboration, engagement and efficiency in a more open, centralized location.”
Currently McCormick’s 2,400 employees administrative offices are housed in four buildings: three in Hunt Valley, MD, and the headquarters in Sparks. The company is considering sites where the majority of its workers live, and had not reached a decision about whether to build or renovate.
McCormick’s Hunt Valley spice plant and mill, flavoring center, distribution site and R & D facility would be unaffected by the relocation, the company claims.
