Peter Tedeschi is part of the third generation of Tedeschi Food Shops. The company traces its roots back to 1923 when Peter’s grandfather, Angelo Tedeschi, started selling imported Italian meats and cheeses from his home in Rockland, Massachusetts. Tedeschi Food Shops is a company that is “proud of its past, and focused on its future,” and recently received national recognition when it was selected as the “2012 Convenience Chain of the Year”. As a young entrepreneur, Peter developed, operated, and eventually sold one of the first retail computer chains in New England before beginning a successful career in the financial services industry. In 2008, Peter resigned as a Senior Vice President at Putnam Investments to join his family business comprised of 196 Tedeschi Food Shops locations, various commercial real estate properties, and the Tedeschi Fresh Foods Commissary. Peter currently serves on the South Shore Chamber’s Executive Board, is a Vice-Chairman and Executive Board member of the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), and serves as a Trustee for the South Shore Hospital Charitable Foundation as well as being a member of STEP Education’s Advisory Board.
