Excise taxes on candy are detrimental to our industry, a burden on businesses and do not actually decrease the prevalence of obesity in America. NCA actively engages in lobbying and grassroots outreach in states where excise taxes on candy are proposed. In 2013, NCA testified against proposed candy taxes in Vermont and Massachusetts.
