Sales show growth this fall, but inflation continues to slow actual sales increases
NCA and SymphonyIRI report that projected year end retail sales for total U.S. confectionery in 2011 will be $32.2 billion, up 5.2 percent, a sign that confectionery continues to perform well in tough economic times. Manufacturers' import costs have driven wholesale and retail pricing upward, particularly in the second half of this year, and volume grew at 1.6 percent.
