Christmas $ Percent Change vs. Year Ago (Food, Drug & Mass excluding Wal-Mart)
2005 Christmas sales grew 2.4%, according to NCA estimates based on IRI sales analysis in Food Drug and Mass outlets. This takes into account a 1.9% increase in Gift-boxed chocolate sales in November and December. Chocolate candy significantly outperformed the non-chocolate sector during the holiday season.
