Halloween 2006 Sales Summary

According to IRI, overall Halloween candy sales grew at a 2.8% rate in 2006. The strongest increase was turned in by drug stores with a 4.4% increase. Sales of Halloween themed candies led the way with a 9% increase in chocolate Halloween themed candies and a 15.2% increase in non-chocolate themed candies.

This trend which, started in 2005 shows retailers focused on packaging decorated with Halloween themes such as witches and goblins however, tonnage still comes from snack pack bags of candy. Retail Sales Summary
