Information Resources, Inc. – Retail Sales Report as of March 25, 2007

This end of quarter IRI report contains quarterly Convenience Store Information in addition to NCA’s monthly Food, Drug and Mass (excluding Wal-Mart) sales data.

Food Drug and Mass Outlets Information
IRI reported a strong 5.5% increase for the four week confectionery sales period ending March 25, 2007. However, the sales figures reflect half of the Easter 2007 selling season so NCA will reserve judgment on the four week and fifty-two week sales data until the April report is released.

For the fifty-two week period, IRI reports dollar sales of confectionery products have increased 7.5% over 2005: Drug Store sales have grown 10.4%; Mass Merchants +7.8%; and Supermarkets +3.6%.

Gum sales remain strong at a 5.5% increase led by sugar-free gum, up 11.8%. Chocolate candy sales are running 9.0% ahead of last year and non-chocolate candy has increased 5.5%.

Convenience Stores
Convenience Stores continue their outstanding growth in the confectionery category with an 8.3% increase for the fifty-two week period ending March 25, 2007. Combined sales in Food, Drug, Mass (excluding Wal-Mart) and Convenience Store increased 7.8% for the fifty-two week period.
