Survey reveals hot issues important to retailers
Post-show survey results from the 2014 Sweets & Snacks Expo pinpointed several hot-button topics that attendees feel will impact their businesses over the next five years. Respondents indicated that value, convenience, retail experience and food variety will have the highest impact. Benchmarking against past years, it appears that value and private brands are declining in importance as the economy improves. Parsing out high-impact retailers who operate more than 50 stores, the survey results showed that they are significantly more concerned with health and wellness, the blurring of food channels and globalization.
