Survey reveals hot issues important to retailers
Post-show survey results from the 2014 Sweets & Snacks Expo pinpointed several hot-button topics that attendees feel will impact their businesses over the next five years. Respondents indicated that value, convenience, retail experience and food variety will have the highest impact. Benchmarking against past years, it appears that value and private brands are declining in importance as the economy improves. Parsing out high-impact retailers who operate more than 50 stores, the survey results showed that they are significantly more concerned with health and wellness, the blurring of food channels and globalization. NCA Sweets & Snacks Expo strategy takeaways
Earlier this month the Sweets & Snacks Expo Committee met in Chicago for a long-range strategic planning session to discuss the future of the show. For the past five years, the Expo has experienced high levels of attendee loyalty and will continue to focus on delivering unparalleled customer value through networking, connecting with the millennial generation, and increasing innovation in products and merchandising solutions. Education opportunities will be enhanced to deliver additional industry information as well as consumer and shopper insights. The committee promises even more “Wow!” at the 2015 event.
