Planning a Prom or Decorating for an Industry Meeting? Same Difference

Hope your Valentine's Day was awesome. Did you make a candy heart wreath?

The ladies at NCA all received a rose on their desk from "a friend" and a scratch and sniff chocolate Valentine's Day card.

BUT - other than that it was business as usual because we're less than two weeks away from our annual meeting. Actually, that's the subject of my post today. Around this time last year, I posted a picture of a prototype lollipop centerpiece some of my co-workers designed for an event we were holding at the conference.

Well, this year I helped picked out prom decor for the same meeting. Okay, maybe not exactly prom decor (there will not be any dancing or cheesy photos to the best of my knowledge), but we did buy some items from the country's leading supplier of decoration for events like prom and homecomings.

So, is our theme Harvest Moon, Under the Sea or Starry Starry Night you ask? Nope - it's just good ole' candy. We needed some large pieces of candy, and Stumps had exactly what we needed.

Here's what we ordered:

Twist-wrapped Peppermint Swirls

Lollipops

Gumballs

Now we need to figure out a way to make something that resembles chocolate truffles. We're thinking we might buy a couple of sheets of 12 x 12 chocolate brown and cream scrapbook paper, cut the corners off the brown paper to make softer corners, and then use the cream paper to make swirly and striped designs on the top. Something like this, we hope.

Any other ideas?

Speaking of large pieces of good ole' candy -- don't forget about monster jawbreakers and licorice ropes!

Here is a floral-like arrangement with gumballs you could try...

1) Buy some Pocky (Japanese candy)
2) Puncture one small hole in each gumball
3) Stick one Pocky into the gumball
4) Stand them all up in the small flower vase.

Have you made that centerpiece before? We'd love to see a photo.

online shoping is welcomed by most people due to various reasons. From the perspective of consumer, it can

save some time for people who don’t have much spare time. Just click the mouse, they can get whatever they want while staying at home. For the

retailers, it can cut some costs for those who don’t have much circulating funds. They don’t have to rent a house and spend money on employees

compared with the traditional trade mode. However, there are still some defects in online shopping. First, face to face deal makes online shopping

less reliable and trustworthy. Second, people will lose the fun of bargain.
