Galerie Innovative Confectionery Gifts was founded by entrepreneur Richard Ross, who first gained a passion for candy when working at his mother’s candy shop in the 1970s. He then began distributing Jelly Belly Jelly Beans and eventually opened four Jelly Belly Bean Factory stores and seven gourmet chocolate stands known as Galerie Au Chocolat. Mr. Ross started Galerie, his wholesale business, in 1989 taking it from a single candy item to many products combining candy and gifts.
Now a category leader in the candy/novelty gift industry, Galerie has moved beyond jelly beans to offer unique and trendy gift items with candy. Galerie designs, assembles, sells and distributes more than 1,500 confectionery gift products each year out of its 270,000 sq-ft corporate headquarters. Designs focus on Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas, but products are also produced for such major licenses as Hershey’s, Peanuts and Star Wars.
Galerie is committed to its community and believes in supporting local causes. The company provides financial support as well as the gift of products for special fundraising events. The company also focuses on charities that serve children in need to ensure a better quality of life for future generations. These organizations include local schools, churches and fire departments in addition to national charities like the Ronald McDonald House, UnitedWay, and the Free Store Food Bank.
