Gimbal’s Fine Candies was founded by Alexander Gimbal in 1898 as the Gimbal Candy Kitchen, outside of San Francisco, Calif. Today, the company is run by fourth-generation President and CEO Lance Gimbal. For close to 120 years, all of Gimbal’s products have been manufactured in the U.S. The Gimbal’s Confectionery produces Gourmet Jelly Beans, Cherry Lovers, all natural Licorice Scotties and more. All of Gimbal’s products and facilities are free of the eight most common food allergens, which are peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, gluten, soy, fish and shell fish, which are responsible for over 90% of food allergies.
In addition to being a long-standing employer in San Francisco, Gimbal’s also actively gives back to its community in a variety of ways. Company employees revitalized Paradise Valley neighborhood playground near its facility, raised more than $5,000 for local families impacted by a neighborhood fire, and support numerous food allergen awareness programs.
