Taffy Town, Inc., was founded by James Vernon Glade in 1916 as the Glade Candy Company after he made his first batch of peppermint chews to sell in his wife’s kitchen. In 1995, the company’s name was officially changed to Taffy Town to reflect the dedication to the company’s best-selling product. Today, Taffy Town manufactures all of its premium taffy in the United States, and exports to countries including Canada, Iceland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and South Korea.
Taffy Town sponsors the local elementary school and Salt Lake’s minor league baseball team, the Salt Lake Bees. The company is also a frequent sponsor of University of Utah football and basketball games.
