Chicago — The nominees for the 2017 Kettle Award are Shawn Askinosie, of Askinosie Chocolate; Sara Clair, of Brown & Haley; Ghirardelli Chocolate Co.’s Steve Genzoli; and Kirk Vashaw, of Spangler Candy Co.
The winner will be announced at the 72nd Kettle Award gala, taking place May 23, at Chicago’s Union League Club. The event is open to anyone working in the confectionery industry.
Since 1946, Candy Industry magazine has given out the award, which recognizes superior achievements in sales and marketing, education and personnel training, energy and environmental contributions, quality advancement, production and plant improvements, and research and product development.
