San Francisco — Alex Schildmeyer has been appointed vice-president of sales for Alter Eco Americas, Inc., while Pilar Ochi has been named vice-president of marketing, the chocolate company reports.
“As Alter Eco continues to grow and innovate, we’ve been looking for leaders who can take our brand to the next level and who support our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility,” says Mike Forbes, CEO of Alter Eco. “Alex and Pilar both have tremendous experience catalyzing brand growth and a passion for the space that is a perfect culture fit for our team. We’re thrilled to welcome them and begin an exciting new evolution for Alter Eco.”
Schildmeyer joins the company from Primal Kitchen, where he led sales efforts that resulted in 130 percent growth for the brand in 2018, Alter Eco reports. With more than 13 years of CPG leadership experience, he also worked in sales and finance roles for Annie’s Homegrown and General Mills, Inc.
With more than 11 years of experience in growing emerging and established brands, Ochi joins the company from Blue Bottle Coffee, where she helped drive product innovation and grew the business in new channels, according to Alter Eco. Ochi has also worked for Clorox and Visa.
The company also promoted Antoine Ambert from director of marketing to senior director of innovation and sustainability. Ambert played a key role in the development of Alter Eco’s compostable truffle wrappers and Gone4Good pouches. Candy & Snack TODAY got together with Ambert earlier this year to discuss the development process for the candymaker’s sustainable packaging.
