American Licorice Entering Hard Candy Sector

La Porte, IN — American Licorice Co. is debuting Aprati Foods’ Frutati and Mocati hard candies inspired by the culture and flavors of Cambodia, where the products are sourced, the candymaker reports. Frutati features fruit-inspired flavors, while Mocati has café influenced tastes.

The company is launching the line as its first “digital native brand,” with sales going exclusively through ecommerce at apraticandy.com and Amazon.com, Inc. until February 1, 2020.

American Licorice tells Candy & Snack TODAY it will leverage data from online sales to inform its decisions about “desired retailers, pack types, sizes and flavor assortments for traditional retail.”

Mocati 00The new hard candies are Non-GMO Project certified, and the Cambodian manufacturer maintains BRC certification, and is OHSAS 18001 and  SA 8000 Standard certified, according to American Licorice.

Frutati and Mocati hard candies pack in four-ounce bags, and the line is offered in three-ct boxes that have a SRP of $12.99.
